A fun place to eat is Fuji’s Japanese
Steakhouse. The kids will love to watch the chef make an onion volcano and a
burst of fire. At lunch time the entrees are around $7, and you get enough food
that some of the kids can just share off your plate.
Go Fishing- a Fishing License is $12 and can be
purchased in Wal-Mart Sporting Goods Department. A good place for beginners is in the pond next
to Horton Smith golf course, across from Nathaniel Greene Park.
Go Bowling- Lighthouse Lanes on Glenstone is a
smoke-free bowling alley and- they have bumper bowling for the little ones.

Visit Historic Bakersville, MO. Located about an
hour away. Head east on 60 to Mansfield and take Highway 5 exit north. Follow
the signs. Closed Saturdays. They offer a meal from 11:30-1 in their
restaurant. Diners just pay whatever they feel is fair. There are old-time
stores selling herbs, soaps, Pioneer type clothing and homemade goodies like
giant cinnamon rolls for 2 bucks. Also, a HUGE selection of heirloom seeds.
While you’re at it, check out the Amish Auction
which takes place in Seymour Tuesdays and Thursdays starting at 10:00 a.m.
Ava Drug, located just off the square in Ava, MO
has an old-fashioned soda fountain. They
sell scoops of ice cream in a variety of flavors cups or cones for just 0.25
and sodas are 0.50. Also on the square is the original Mama Jean’s: Jean’s
Healthway.

409 W. McDaniel 831-1976 is a Historic jail built in 1891. Now used as a police
substation, they give free tours by appointment.

strip. You can buy T-shirts for 2 bucks and hoodies for 5. Hats are $1. Find
